Privacy policy
This is an English courtesy translation. The legally binding version is the German one. It explains which data we process when you use this website, on what legal basis and what rights you have.
1. Controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website within the meaning of the GDPR is:
Camping-Paradies Fehmarn e.V., Wulfener Hals Weg 100, 23769 Fehmarn, Germany
Represented by: Jörn Henning Kohlhoff
Phone: 04371 862815 · Email: info@campingparadies-fehmarn.de
2. Hosting & server log files
This website is hosted on servers of Hetzner Online GmbH (Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany) within the EU. When you access the site, technically necessary access data is processed in server log files: IP address, date and time of the request, the page or file requested, the amount of data transferred, referrer, and browser and operating-system information. This serves the secure and stable operation of the site and is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We have concluded a data-processing agreement with our host (Art. 28 GDPR). Log data is stored only for as long as technically necessary and deleted regularly.
3. Encryption
For security reasons, this website uses TLS/SSL encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the “https://” prefix in the address bar.
4. Cookies, local storage & consent
Technically necessary storage (e.g. your cookie decision and your language choice) is required to operate the site and is used on the basis of § 25(2) TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Your consent decision is stored locally in your browser so that the banner does not appear on every visit.
Statistics and external media (see below) are only loaded after your explicit consent via our consent banner (§ 25(1) TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Without consent, no analysis and no connection to Google or Vimeo takes place.
5. Google Analytics 4
After your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 for anonymous reach and usage analysis (property ID G-YX697FLXZ7) in order to improve our offering. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Cookies (e.g. _ga, _ga_…) are set and usage data such as pages visited, time on site, approximate location (based on the shortened IP address) and device/browser type is processed. Google shortens the IP address and does not store it permanently.
Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG).
Transfer to third countries: processing in the USA by Google LLC cannot be excluded. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; EU standard contractual clauses apply in addition.
Storage period: analytics cookies up to 2 years; user-related data in GA is deleted according to the configured retention. You can also prevent collection via a browser add-on. More information is available in Google’s privacy policy.
6. Withdrawing consent
You can withdraw or change a consent you have given at any time with effect for the future – as easily as you gave it (Art. 7(3) GDPR):
7. Hero video (Vimeo)
On the home page, a promotional film provided by Vimeo (Vimeo Inc., USA) can be shown in the background. The video is only loaded after your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). Before that – and if you have reduced-motion enabled – only a still image is shown and there is no connection to Vimeo. After consent, a connection to Vimeo servers (including in the USA) is established to deliver the video, transmitting your IP address; the call is made in privacy mode (Do Not Track). Vimeo’s privacy policy applies in addition.
8. Contact & enquiry forms
We process the data you enter (e.g. name, address, email, phone, travel period, message) exclusively to handle your enquiry. For a booking enquiry, the data is transmitted to us by email and forwarded by us to the campsites you selected so they can contact you directly. Legal basis is your consent and the initiation/performance of a (pre-)contractual relationship (Art. 6(1)(a) and (b) GDPR). We use a spam-protection field (honeypot); no additional third-party service is used for this. A separate transfer to further third parties does not take place.
9. Job applications
If you apply via our job form, we process your application data solely for the application procedure (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, § 26 BDSG). Application documents are deleted after the procedure has been completed – at the latest six months after a rejection – unless you have consented to longer storage.
10. Social media feed
On the “Social Feed” page we show public Instagram posts from the campsites. The content is cached on our own server and delivered from there – no connection to Meta/Instagram is established when you view it. Only when you click on a post are you taken to Instagram (their privacy policy then applies).
11. Self-hosted fonts
The fonts used (Nunito, Open Sans) are hosted on our own server. No connection to Google Fonts is established, and no data is transmitted to Google when the fonts are loaded.
12. Recipients & processors
We only pass on personal data where necessary to fulfil the purpose: to the campsites you select (for booking enquiries), to our hosting provider (Hetzner Online GmbH) and our email service provider (Mittwald CM Service GmbH & Co. KG, Königsberger Str. 4–6, 32339 Espelkamp, Germany), and – after consent – to Google as an analytics provider. Data-processing agreements pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR are in place with our processors.
13. Your rights
- Access to the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Rectification (Art. 16) and erasure (Art. 17)
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18)
- Data portability (Art. 20)
- Objection to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21)
- Withdrawal of consent with effect for the future (Art. 7(3))
- Complaint to a supervisory authority (Art. 77)
A simple message to info@campingparadies-fehmarn.de is sufficient to exercise your rights. The competent supervisory authority is the Independent State Centre for Data Protection Schleswig-Holstein (ULD).
14. No automated decision-making
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
15. Changes
We adapt this privacy policy when the legal situation or our processing changes. The version published here always applies. Last updated: Juli 2026.
